GENERIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • the resource can be a student of Fashion Management willing to learn and even consider a career in the international organizations in the field of textiles, leather, creative industries.
  • the resource should be a young person with a strong interest in development studies related to the creative processes and the industrial processes in the creative industries.
  •  the resource should consider this valuable internship time to study and deepen the knowledge on the different areas approached by the Office where he/she will be allocated.
Some examples of possible practical involvement of the resource:
-  if there is a project in a MENA Country such as Jordan, it could be focusing on the existing Jordanian Creative system and the resource could be involved in helping the Office with preparation of the documents for an event.
-  If the Office is dealing at a given time with a development project in an African Country, for example Madagascar focusing on a Malagasy textile local product widely used in the fashion system, such as raffia (always as an example!) the resource could be involved in all possible researches and project related to the raffia material, to its sustainable production, to the people and villages involved etc.
  • The sustainable value chain is the entire chain made of the production processes in the creative industries. As a matter of fact, many developing countries have not yet developed a value chain, which is sustainable only when all steps are perfectly interacting and perfectly related to the local population and workforce. Therefore, a project in the field of then Sustainable Value Chain would involve the internship resource in cooperating with the Office team to set the basis for a specific sustainable project – always related to the creative industries.
The fact of experiencing the work environment of a UN Office together with people from all over the world would definitely shape the personality of the resource to make him/her a more international and more open young professional brilliant in any career he/she will undertake.
